Guild Leader

Jan Winebrenner The founder and director of the Dallas Christian Writers Guild, Jan Winebrenner is the author of seven books and scores of magazine articles. Published in both the secular and Christian markets, she has written for university presses, major Christian publishers, and magazines as diverse as Vietnam, Today's Christian Woman, and Christian Counseling Today. She worked as a feature writer for a parenting magazine for two years and taught a non-fiction writing class for a Dallas community adult education program for five years. Among her books are Intimate Faith, A Woman's Guide to the Spiritual Disciplines (Warner, 2003) and The Grace of Catastrophe (Moody Publishers, 2005).

Jan is a frequent speaker at writers conferences, teaching workshops on writing non-fiction books, how to write book proposals that sell, evaluating book ideas, writing for the Christian market, getting started as a freelancer, and fundamentals of marketing. The creator and co-director of Dallas's first Christian writers conference, she organized and directed "Pursuing Excellence" conferences for five years.

Jan is actively involved in all aspects of the Dallas Christian Writers Guild, presenting workshops, assisting writers with manuscripts, and hosting guest speakers, and participating in the guild's critiquing process. Visit Jan at JanWinebrenner.com
